On the 6th of January I attended an all day business-building seminar hosted by my division manager. I was very pleased that Karen, my top Unit Leader in my downline was able to come with me. We learned a lot of new ideas. One thing that was stressed was that we should be conducting Training Contact 2 in person. Now, I have to say that in the past, most of us have been doing this over the phone. Certainly it would be better to meet in person, however it is often difficult to arrange to meet a second time. Our division manager suggested that during the initial appointment we tell our new team member that it is imperative that we meet for Training Contact 2 BEFORE the submission of their first order and ask if they are available next week, same day, time and place.
I've had two appointments since then. Both agreed. The first cancelled her Training Contact 2 and I have been unable to reschedule with her. However, she has placed her first order and I'm happy about that. The second is scheduled for Sunday and I'm rather excited about it. Better follow ups lead to greater success of your team. True, some team members will fail themselves, but it is important that we, as leaders do not fail our teams.
Another important concept that I'm learning in my conference call series is how important it is to better ourselves. We need to constantly be striving to learn new skills so that we can then, teach it to our teams. I have to say that I am certainly better qualified now to lead my team than I have ever been before. Yet I still have so much more to learn. We NEVER stop learning.
Right now, I am reading Guerrilla Multi-level Marketing. It's very good and full of simple ideas that can help us grow our businesses.
