Reflection

I've decided to create a blog as part of my professional journey. I will start with a little background of my business. Five years ago, after much thought and consideration I met with a District Sales Magager from Avon to start my own business. Mostly just to make a little extra cash and be able to afford my own beauty products. It cost me a mere ten dollar investment. I was so inspired by the "Rich and Famous of AVON" DVD that I made it my goal to one day quit my other job and become a Senior Executive Unit Leader.
Today, I am a President's Club member with sales exceeding $10,100 for the past 4 years running. I am a Unit Leader with one Unit Leader under me. A far cry from my eventual dreams. Or is it? Really I've had an incredible year! After the birth of my daughter (my first child) last November, I became a stay-at-home mom. I work about 2 hours a day (about 6 days per week) from home and 6-8 hours every two weeks for deliveries. I also work about an additional 3 hours every week for new team member appointments. Despite a declining ecconomy, and new responsibilities at home, I've managed to increase my sales by over $1500 cycle-to-date, develope a new Unit Leader in my downline and increase my teams overall size and performance significantly. In fact right now, I'm feeling as though the momentum is really building to what is going to manifest into an explosion of growth in 2010.
How have I managed this? Through small actions taken every day. With the declining economy, as my customers orders became smaller in response, I made a point to gain new customers every day. I spent the year practicing the "power of 3" every day. and making a point to give my new customers the absolute best possible customer service. Throughout most of the year I saw minimal results. Come holiday time, I saw an explosion over last years holiday sales as I have so many more customers. I've applied the same principles to my leadership business as well. Through this blog, I hope to share with you my Avon journey. The techniques that have yeilded results and those that don't. I don't expect many readers now, however I do expect others will join us as I continue my journey to the top, and especially when I reach my goal of Senior Executive Unit Leader by 2013. That's right, my goal is to make Senior Executive Unit Leader by January 2013. Three years from now. Will I reach it? We shall see.
