Courtesy Calls

Have you been making your courtesy calls?
With the holiday’s fast approaching and orders due in, follow up is more important than ever. Each campaign I go through my customer list and call each person who has not yet placed an order. These calls make up almost half my order each time. Why? People simply forget to call us. A simple reminder can make all the difference. It can also make the difference as to whether or not they get their order in time for the holidays. I have included the script I use below:
Say: “Hi (customer’s name), this is (your name), your AVON representative! How are you today? (wait for response)
Glad to hear that (or other appropriate response).
I was just about to put my order in to AVON and I wanted to see if there was anything you liked in the book.”
Take down customer’s order. Then say:
“This will be in on (say the day), I will call you then to set up delivery (or you can set up delivery right then).”
Be sure to thank the customer for her order and wish her a nice day. If the customer did not have an order, say:
”Okay then, I will make sure you get the new book!” and wish her a good day.
If you get voicemail say:
“Hi (customer’s name), this is (say your name), your Avon representative. My order goes in tomorrow (or give date or time!) I just wanted to see if there was anything in the book that you liked and wanted to order. If so, please give me a call back my number is (say your phone number). Thanks. Have a great day!”
I leave a lot of voicemails. Some will not call back and that’s okay, I just take it that they don’t have an order that campaign. I always get at least a couple of calls however from customers with orders. It usually goes something along the lines of “I’m so glad you called! I totally forgot and I need it by …” So make sure to call your customers, or text if that’s how they contact you, trust me they will appreciate it.
